Professional License Defense Attorney
Diane L. BellquistContact Diane
Diane Bellquist helps licensed individuals and entities protect their livelihoods and businesses whenever disciplinary or licensure issues arise. Her regulatory defense practice includes appealing application denials, responding to investigations of complaints, negotiating settlement agreements, defending against allegations in formal disciplinary proceedings, and petitioning for judicial review of agency actions.
With over 10 years’ experience working for Kansas regulatory agencies, Diane uses the knowledge she gained as a former insider to achieve superior results. She offers her clients the practical advantage of established relationships with agency personnel as well as a thorough understanding of the unwritten protocols and practices in effect in Kansas agencies and regulatory boards.
Diane has significant experience litigating healthcare industry issues after serving as Assistant General Counsel for the Kansas Board of Healing Arts and focusing on health care in private practice. She has defended countless physicians, chiropractors, and physician assistants in actions involving their licenses. Similarly, Diane regularly defends nurses before the Kansas State Board of Nursing, pharmacists before the Kansas Board of Pharmacy, and other health care providers before their respective administrative agencies.
Diane’s practice extends beyond the healthcare industry to include experience representing many other licensed professionals, including certified public accountants, engineers, real estate agents, and insurance agents. Diane also helps attorneys respond to bar complaints, manages investigations undertaken by the Office of the Disciplinary Administrator, and provides defense in disciplinary proceedings involving alleged violations of the Rules of Professional Conduct.
Diane is a member of the Kansas Bar Association, Missouri Bar Association, Kansas Women Attorneys Association, Kansas Association of Defense Counsel, Johnson County Bar Association, Greater Kansas City Society of Healthcare Attorneys, Topeka Bar Association, Women Attorneys Association of Topeka, American Inns of Court, and Earl E.
