Joseph, Hollander & Craft LLC, — one of Kansas’ fastest-growing law firms – has expanded its footprint in the Kansas City metro area by merging with Overland Park criminal defense firm Erickson Scherff, LLC. With the addition of lawyers Lindsey P. Erickson and Dionne M. Scherff and their staff, Joseph, Hollander & Craft now includes 18 lawyers and 16 staff members with offices in Wichita, Topeka, Lawrence and Overland Park.
Joseph, Hollander & Craft’s Kansas City office is located at 10990 Quivira, Suite 200, in Overland Park. The firm plans to expand the office space to accommodate additional lawyers and legal staff to be hired in the coming months.

Lindsey P. Erickson’s diverse practice includes all levels of adult felonies and misdemeanors, including drug manufacturing, sale, and possession cases; sex offense cases; aggravated battery; aggravated robbery; homicide; domestic violence cases; property crime; all levels of juvenile crime; DUIs and other traffic offenses; and administrative hearings, including school board expulsion hearings, and driver’s license suspension hearings.
She is licensed to practice in the State of Kansas, the Federal District of Kansas, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. She has tried many jury trials in state court and has briefed numerous appeals in the Kansas Court of Appeals and in the Kansas Supreme Court, as well as in the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Erickson has argued before the Kansas Supreme Court and the Kansas Court of Appeals.
Erickson is a 1991 graduate of the University of New Hampshire and lived on the east coast prior to moving to Kansas to attend law school. She graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1994. Erickson clerked, became an associate, and then became a partner with Carl E. Cornwell in Overland Park, Kan., before opening her practice with Dionne M. Scherff.
Dionne M. Scherff served as Assistant District Attorney in both Wyandotte County and Johnson County. As a prosecutor, she specialized in sex abuse and child abuse cases. Since going into private practice, the types of cases she handles include, but are not limited to, first degree murder, bank robbery, drug distribution, mortgage fraud, aggravated kidnapping, rape, aggravated indecent liberties, aggravated battery, stalking, electronic solicitation, all juvenile offenses, and driving under the influence.
Scherff is one of only a handful of lawyers who is qualified by Kansas to handle death penalty cases. She is one of only two lawyers in Kansas’ history of death penalty cases to get a capital case dismissed.
A 1991 graduate of the University of Kansas School of Law, she now serves as an Adjunct Professor at the law school and as Judge Pro Tem in the Johnson County District Court.
Scherff has been hired as an expert in the criminal defense of sex cases in Kansas. Her work in criminal defense has taken her to multiple jurisdictions to litigate federal and state cases, including Kansas, Missouri, Colorado and Texas.
Scherff is licensed to practice in the State of Kansas, the State of Missouri, the Federal District of Kansas, the Federal Western District of Missouri, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. She has briefed and argued numerous cases in the Kansas Court of Appeals. She has perfected and written appeals in both the Eighth and Tenth Circuits of the Federal Court of Appeals. She has also argued before the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver.
