Program Description
Rule 1.2 mandates that “[a] lawyer shall abide by a client’s decisions concerning the lawful objectives of representation.” Too often, lawyers have overlooked this mandate and have lost sight of their client’s objectives and pursued their own. As a result, clients have been disappointed, clients’ matters have been lost, and lawyers have been disciplined and sanctioned. A number of real-life exemplars will be discussed. Join attorney J. Nick Badgerow for a 1-hour CLE webinar on Thursday August 14, 2025. This program explores the parameters of the lawyer’s obligation to pursue a client’s “lawful” objectives, with the goal of establishing and maintaining a positive working partnership between lawyer and client – to the satisfaction of both.
