Kansas does not make exceptions for medical marijuana card holders from other states. Kansas is one of only 11 states without a medical cannabis law, and does not recognize reciprocity from other states that have issued medical marijuana cards. Bringing marijuana into Kansas even for personal or medical use can be charged as a criminal offense.

I’ve been charged with a crime. Will it show up on a background check?

Arrests and pending charges can show up on a background check. However, expungement may be an option if charges are never filed, charges are filed but later dismissed, or even after a conviction. Expungement will result in the records being sealed, so they are available on a standard background check.
