Shawna Miller is a Topeka family law attorney who serves Kansas clients with matters involving divorce, child custody, child support, spousal maintenance, and paternity. Shawna also prepares prenuptial agreements and handles child in need of care (CINC) matters.

Shawna Miller’s family law experience dates back to 2005, when she opened Miller Law Office to serve clients in and around Holton, Kansas. For ten years operating Miller Law Office, Shawna assisted clients in divorce, custody, support, and paternity matters as well as probate and estate planning, bankruptcy, and criminal defense.
Shawna also dedicated herself to public service. She was the city attorney for the City of Meriden between 2006 and 2010 and an Assistant Jackson County Attorney between 2005 and 2007. Voters elected Shawna Jackson County Attorney in 2008, and she held that office January 2009 through May 2022. Shawna has also served in a judicial role—as the municipal judge for Hoyt (2012-2022) and Mayetta (2015-2022).
A strong advocate for survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault, Miller has also worked as a sexual assault counselor for YWCA Battered Women’s Task Force in Topeka; served on the Kansas Attorney General’s Office Batterers Intervention Advisory Board; and volunteered with The Crisis Center, Inc.
Miller joined JHC’s Topeka family law group in August 2022.
