Shawna Miller’s Topeka-based family law practice includes matters of divorce, paternity, child custody, child support, spousal maintenance, and adoption. Shawna also prepares prenuptial and postnuptial agreements and handles child in need of care (CINC) matters. In addition, Shawna assists individuals with criminal defense matters.
Shawna loves problem solving and has a knack for finding ways to improve nearly every situation. A never-failing advocate for her clients, she is also steadfastly committed to helping them learn to advocate for themselves. Shawna believes that knowledge is power and strives to provide her clients with all the information they need to make the best choices for themselves and their families.
Joining JHC following her tenure as the Jackson County Attorney, Shawna has ample trial experience and capably navigates the most intense circumstances. Having worked with and advocated for crime victims, Shawna fully understands the personal aspect of every legal case.
Shawna’s family law experience dates back to 2005, when she opened Miller Law Office to serve clients in and around Holton, Kansas, in divorce, custody, support, and paternity matters. With her mix of experience in private practice and government work, she offers her clients wide-ranging perspective and comprehensive solutions. Shawna’s background has made her into a thoughtful counselor and adept litigator, and she relishes the opportunity to use her knowledge and skill to benefit her clients and their families.
