Joseph, Hollander & Craft receives 2024 Robert L. Gernon Award for Outstanding Service to Continuing Legal Education in Kansas.

SEPTEMBER 13, 2024, OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Joseph, Hollander & Craft (JHC) is thrilled to announce that it has been selected as one of two recipients of the 2024 Robert L. Gernon Award for Outstanding Service to Continuing Legal Education in Kansas by Kansas Continuing Legal Education (KSCLE).
KSCLE established the Robert L. Gernon Award in 2005 to commemorate the legacy of Kansas Supreme Court Justice Robert L. Gernon (1943–2005). Justice Gernon was renowned for his commitment to the training, education, and professionalism of the legal community. This award honors his extraordinary commitment to the Kansas bar while recognizing individuals and organizations who carry on his legacy through their dedication to the same.
Cindy Chaffin of KSCLE presented the award to JHC at its annual attorney retreat on September 6. Chaffin noted that the firm received multiple nominations praising its commitment to offering high quality, easily accessible legal education free of charge. She added, “The generosity of the firm had far-reaching results for Kansas attorneys this year, with over 3,500 … benefiting by receiving CLE credit for their participation.”
In addition to the quality of programming provided and the quantity of participants served, KSCLE applauded the firm’s administrative efficiency. “We saw how fast the staff reported hours. . . . The staff with Joseph, Hollander & Craft managed to enter thousands of hours within days of each activity. That set a very, very high bar for other providers,” Ms. Chaffin continued.
Since 2020, JHC has offered 22 CLE programs to over 13,000 participants. The aim of our CLE programs is not only to enhance the professional skills of fellow law practitioners but also to uphold the ethical standards crucial to the integrity of the profession.
JHC is proud of its legal ethics team for upholding the bar of excellence in continuing legal education. The team includes JHC attorneys Christopher Joseph, Carrie Parker, and Diane Bellquist; KU Law professor Michael Hoeflich; and JHC’s Matt Stephens and Luzianne Stafford, who handle the administration of our CLEs.
